For Louis Vuitton Fashion Eye, the controversial photographer Oliviero Toscani revisits Cretto di Burri, Alberto Burri's monumental masterpiece of land art, which covers part of the ruins of Gibellina, a Sicilian town devastated by a massive earthquake in 1968. Using high-angle, close-up and wide-angle shots, Toscani adds his own conceptual inscriptions to the expanse of blindingly white concrete slabs traced with a network of lacerations to commemorate the tragedy.
